DND (Do Not Disturb) is an initiative by TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) to save telecom consumers from unsolicited calls/SMS.

If a Jio user registers his/her mobile number, then it would be illegal for telemarketers to send any sort of unsolicited SMS or calls on those numbers.

You can register your DND preferences at the time of filling Customer Acquisition Form (CAF)

or

You can register your DND preferences anytime later on MyJio App or www.jio.com

How to Deactivate or Close Reliance Jio mobile account

The account validity will be automatically extended however the mobile connection will be deactivated if there is no voice/video call (outgoing or incoming) or an outgoing SMS or a data session (upload or download) or usage of Value Added Services, for a continuous period of 90 days.

In case the main account balance is less than Rs 20 at the discretion of RJIL. Upon deactivation, all account balances will be forfeited and a grace period of 15 days will be provided within which the subscriber can retain the deactivated number by paying a fee of Rs 20.

If the subscriber main account balance is Rs 20 or more, a number retention charge of Rs 20 will be automatically deducted and the non-usage period will be extended by 30 days.

Item Checklist.

1. 4G LTE based phone. (2300MHz TD-LTE Band)
2. Your existing Active SIM card in a phone(your 4G phone is also fine)
3. One Passport size Photo.
4. Address/ID Proof copy. (Make sure your photo on the ID is clear)
5. Rs. 50 for the payment for new SIM.

Steps.

1. Visit your nearest Airtel showroom with all the above mentioned items.
2. Visit the self service Airtel KIOSK in the showroom.
3. Select Prepaid in the menu
4. Select SIM SWAP
5. Enter your phone number
6. Get the token/waiting list number
7. Wait till your token is called out
8. Approach the Counter when your token is called out.
9. Mention “I would like to swap my prepaid 3G SIM to a prepaid 4G SIM”
10. SIM Swap Process Starts (can take up to 15 mins to complete)
11. The CC rep mentions a SIM number.
12. Use your existing phone to send the following SMS
13. Send 4GSIMSWAP NEW_SIM_NUMBER to 121 (Ex 4GSIMSWAP 12345678912345)
14. Wait for “Reply 1 to Proceed” message
15. Send 1 to 121
16. If this fails then repeat the steps
17. If Point #5 fails then you need to submit your photo and documents (reffer checklist) to them. Fill the connection form out.
18. The CC rep hand your over your brand new 4G SIM Card.
19. Pay Rs. 50 for the new SIM Card.
20. The Activation process takes up to one hour to complete.
21. Once activated, your old SIM card will no longer work.
22. Insert your 4G SIM in your 4G Phone.
23. Set Network mode to LTE.
24. Recharge with what ever 3G data pack you seem fit for your consumption.
25. Enjoy the awesome 4G speed.

A confirmation SMS about your 4G SIM upgrade will be sent.
